This position is available for the range of experience spanning an upcoming college graduate (Associate Engineer) to an engineer with significant applicable experience (Senior Engineer).  This requisition primarily describes the responsibilities of a Senior Engineer.  Position title, responsibilities, and compensation are dependent on an individual’s experience, knowledge, and education. 
Nuclear Fuels Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) Design & Analysis engineering position.  The successful candidate will fulfill the following responsibilities.
Primary responsibilities and accountabilities include:
 
1)  Prepare or review design and calculations related to bundle/core nuclear design, bundle/core thermal hydraulic performance, and reload safety analyses.
2)  Prepare or review nuclear fuels design change packages.
3)  Perform 10 CFR 50.59 Reviews.
4)  Maintain an awareness of industry technical issues that affect Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) core operation, and disposition industry issues applicable to Hope Creek Generating Stations.
5)  Provide Nuclear Fuels inputs to license amendment requests.
6)  Maintain Nuclear Fuels Policies, Programs, Processes, Procedures, and Training and Reference Material.   Implement Nuclear Fuels software QA process controls to develop or maintain safety related engineering computer codes.
7)  Review of maneuver specific reactivity management plans.

 

Requirements:

- BS in Nuclear Engineering
- Experience directly related to Boling Water Reactor (BWR) nuclear fuel design and cycle management
       - Associate Engineer (0-2 years)
       - Engineer (2 to 5 years)
       - Lead Engineer (5-7 years)
       - Staff Engineer (7-10 years)
       - Senior Engineer (10+ years)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Candidate must have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.  Individual must meet Nuclear’s requirements for unescorted site access
- Ability to interface on teams where different styles, approaches and strategies are used to identify and resolve issues. Ability to identify and champion change when needed

Desired Skills:

- Experience at either a BWR nuclear fuel vendor or a BWR nuclear station
- Experience professionally challenging the status-quo to drive performance improvement and cost reduction
- 10+ years experience directly related to BWR nuclear fuel design and cycle management as described in the Job Description above
- Experience at both a BWR nuclear fuel vendor and a BWR nuclear station
