Nuclear Maintenance Supervisor

Nuclear Maintenance Supervisor (M&TE) position
Provide first-line supervision of represented employees in accordance with the Company/Union Collective Bargaining Agreement and PSEG policies, practices and procedures. Demonstrate leadership qualities in the performance of day-to-day duties. Perform supervisory duties, which include conducting personnel evaluations and positive discipline. Provide oversight to the calibration, adjustment and repair of Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE). Apply measurement science, mathematics, and physics to develop, document, and maintain calibration systems, procedures, and methods for electronic and mechanical M&TE. Analyze measurement problems, including accuracy and precision requirements. Evaluate new calibration methods and procedures. Use statistics to analyze measurement standards and processes. Recommend calibration standards and M&TE. Maintain calibration laboratory in accordance with documented standards and quality systems. Perform laboratory and/or departmental administration and management, including interfacing with Quality Assurance, vendors and procurement for purchase of safety related calibrations. Assure timely and effective performance of assigned work by trained and qualified personnel using approved procedures and work practices. Assure all work is conducted in accordance with PSEG personnel and safety policies by complying with administrative and technical procedures and work rules.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

High School Diploma.

Demonstrated supervisory experience and strong leadership skills.

Minimum 3 years as a leader in a Metrology environment.

Proficient with Microsoft Excel.

Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.

Must obtain an acceptable score on the First Line Supervisor's Test (FLST) and meet the Nuclear Business Unit requirements for unescorted site access is under requirements.

Must pass a First Line Supervisor's Test (FLST) unless presently and directly supervising PSEG (i.e. responsible for performance review) blue collar, operating department/ represented associates for a minimum of 12 continuous months. For those who have previously taken and received an acceptable score on the FLST but who are not presently and directly supervising represented associates, test results will be valid for a maximum period of two years from the date the test was taken. Acceptable test results exceeding the two year period (for those applicants not presently and directly supervising represented associates) cannot be used in bidding on or applying for a first line supervisory position for which the test was validated. Must meet the Nuclear Business Unit requirements for unescorted site access.

Desired Skills/Knowledge:

Experience in directing bargaining unit personnel, preferably in a commercial nuclear power facility. Adequate education and metrology experience to become a Level II Metrologist within one year, in accordance with ANSI N45.2.6 as described in MA-AA-796-040-0001, which typically requires a minimum of an Associate's Degree. Knowledge of SAP, Crystal Reports and MS Access.Business Unit- Nuclear Business Unit
