Job Responsibilities

The Mechanical Design Engineer**, with nuclear experience preferred. The successful candidate is responsible for providing design and analysis to address plant conditions, based on plant needs. Typical programs include, but are not limited to GOTHIC, ProtoFlow or ME101 (training will be provided, as required). Use and understanding of Microsoft programs are a requirement.

The successful candidate will perform the duties of a Responsible Engineer (RE) for plant modifications and improvements. An RE is responsible for planning, managing and developing design related information associated with engineering change (EC) paperwork. Other RE duties include:
Identifying and understanding problem to be solved, leveraging stakeholders, coordinating Design Engineering resources needed to support development and implementation of an EC package, developing a schedule for completion of engineering activities, manage contracted engineering efforts with respect to technical acceptance, schedule, and other associated duties, interfacing with Project Management to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project needs.

The candidate should also be capable of analytically evaluating and solving problems within their field to support the Design Basis of the applicable plant. The successful candidate will also perform other assigned duties as determined by the Corporate Design Engineering Branch Manager. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills are a must.

Support the plant design bases as pertaining to mechanical issues. Identification of, investigation, and resolution of plant operating, safety, and design issues to ensure plant system reliability, availability and compliance with design/ license basis. Individual may perform plant walkdowns, as required to assess plant conditions.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

• BS in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering
• 0-10 years' experience in the nuclear or relevant industry performing mechanical design/analysis
• Available for Shift Work
• Must meet Nuclear requirements for Unescorted Site Access

Desired:

• MS in Mechanical or nuclear Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer

Education

Bachelor in Engineering
