Job Summary

Provide effective supervision, direction and control of station maintenance activities by directing and coordinating the work of maintenance supervisors and bargaining unit personnel.

Job Responsibilities

The Nuclear Maintenance Superintendent's position is responsible for providing second level leadership of a work group, including supervisors and represented employees in accordance with the Company/Union Collective Bargaining Agreement and Work Standards. Provide oversight to the direct repairs of equipment in the plant. Assure timely and effective performance of assigned maintenance by trained and qualified personnel using approved procedures and work practices. Assure station maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with PSEG personnel and safety policies by complying with administrative and technical procedures and work rules. Administer personnel activities by conducting fair and effective implementation of the Company/Union Collective Bargaining Agreement and PSEG policies, practices and procedures. Demonstration of leadership qualities in the performance of day-to-day duties. Perform supervisory duties, which include conducting personnel evaluations, hiring, disciplinary and discharge recommendations.

Other functions of the Nuclear Maintenance Superintendent may be to perform additional responsibilities under Performance Improvement. While in this role the responsibilities include: Developing human performance and maintenance communications, communicating performance issues through face to face or written communications, review performance issues and identify commonalities, evaluate common cause issues on maintenance performance and development of actions plans, identify training improvement opportunities, perform field observations, participate on Human Performance Review Boards & Steering Committees, engage in plant self-assessments and industry benchmarking, event investigations, etc.
•Provide plant support of station operations •Assure timely and effective performance of assigned maintenance using approved procedures and work practices. •Assure station maintenance and repair activities are conducted in accordance with the Company's personnel and safety policies. •Direct and control work of station technicians and the planning and scheduling of such activities in support of station operations. •Support the goal to maximize unit ability and reliability by assuring timely and effective planning and scheduling of maintenance activities. •Perform supervisory duties, including conducting personnel evaluations, hiring and disciplinary recommendations.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

Engineering Degree at Bachelor's level or equivalent experience and at least 3 years of Maintenance experience with extensive knowledge in the field of Mechanical, Electrical and/or Controls. Must have the ability to obtain Station Qualified Reviewer (SQR) Qualification. Must meet and maintain Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access. Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

5 years of Nuclear Maintenance experience. Current or previous SRO Certification/License, demonstrated supervisory experience in the nuclear industry, and have experience in directing bargaining unit personnel. Must have extensive experience with computer programs such as SAP.
