Job Summary

This position is a direct report to the Deputy General Counsel/RTO Strategy Officer and is responsible for developing strategy, shaping rules and advocating on behalf of PSEG Power's generation business in PJM Interconnection, LLC (PJM), where it owns approximately 8,000 MW of generation. This position has responsibility for directly managing PSEG Power's relationship with PJM management (including management involved in operations, market development, accounting and settlements), with the Independent Market Monitor, with other PJM Generation Owners and with relevant trade and industry groups such as EEI and the PJM Supplier Caucus to advance PSEG Power's business interests. This position will direct critical representation of the company at various PJM committees and Task Force efforts focusing on markets issues, including energy market price formation, capacity market design, carbon pricing, Financial Transmission Rights rules, fuel cost policy rules and credit issues. This position will be responsible for understanding, interpreting and seeking to shape PJM Manual changes pertaining to markets rules, obtaining relevant input from the business and communicating all changes back to the business on a continual basis, including to PSEG Fossil, PSEG Nuclear, PSEG ER&T and Enterprise. This position will also frequently interface with the Director - ISO/NE and NYISO Markets Strategy to develop strategy and engage in consistent markets rules advocacy across the RTOs. This position will coordinate with, and provide input to, Legal and other PSEG personnel in the development of markets-related federal and state regulatory filings. Finally, this position will support the Deputy General Counsel/RTO Strategy Officer in interfacing with PSEG senior management on PJM markets issues.

Job Responsibilities

•Represent PSEG Power's interests at various committees and Task Force efforts in PJM and interface with PJM management and with other stakeholders to advance the business interests of PSEG Power •Help to develop PJM strategy for PSEG Power's business, which will include advocacy/rules shaping activities in PJM •Work closely with PSEG Power (Fossil, Nuclear and ER&T) in communicating and analyzing PJM rules changes and determining the impact of these changes on our business. Ensure PSEG management is made aware of all such rules changes in a timely manner •Stay apprised of relevant markets developments in the ISO/NE and the NYISO and interface with Director Markets Strategy ISO-NE/NYISO in shaping RTO strategy •Help to develop, and provide input regarding, federal and state regulatory filings that impact PJM markets issues •Serve as back-up for Deputy General Counsel/RTO Strategy Officer in internal and external meetings •Represent PSEG Power's business interests through participation in industry advocacy organizations and generator groups

Job Specific Qualifications

Required
•BA or BS in Political Science, Public Policy, Business, Economics, Finance, Power Systems, Engineering or related field. •Five to ten years' experience in a utility, RTO/ISO, generating company, power marketer or an energy regulatory agency. •Minimum five years' experience in a regulatory advocacy role or direct, extensive involvement in commercial activities conducted within an RTO/ISO market. •In-depth knowledge of federal, regional and state energy regulatory policy and an understanding of PJM market rules. •Solid understanding of generation and trading environments. •Demonstrated business and policy acumen and ability to work and communicate effectively in a high-ambiguity and fast-changing environment. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills. •Willingness to actively participate in person in the various PJM stakeholder forums and engage in regular travel •Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop relationships and build coalitions; excellent negotiating skills •Must foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity •Must have valid driver's license

•Advanced degree (e.g. business, finance, economics, engineering) or J.D. •Strong background in economics, finance, trading, regulatory (legal) or operations (ISO/Generation)
