Job Summary

This successful candidate will perform advanced and complex cloud and server systems administration of PSEG Long Island infrastructure.  You will work in an Agile/DevOps model as a team supporting various business groups and emerging technologies.

Job Responsibilities

• Daily maintenance of storage and server infrastructure.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve storage access and performance issues.
  • Provision, maintain and support EMC Storage appliances – VMAX, VNX, UNITY, Datadomain
  • Management of Cisco SAN switch and EMC Virtualization using VPLEX.
  • Administer backup and restore activities using EMC Networker.
  • Support for Solaris, Windows and Linux for SAN client applications:
  • Perform capacity management for database and storage systems.
  • Provision and maintain network file shares.
  • Provides support outside of business hours when required.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Skills, Competencies, Education or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or Information Sciences preferred, or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of IT experience in an enterprise operational environment
  • Strong knowledge of SAN and NAS storage technologies (EMC VMAX, VNX, VPLEX, UNITY, DataDomain)
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.
  • Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary.
  • Self-starting with the demonstrated ability to learn new technical concepts quickly.
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Desired Skills, Competencies, Education or Experience:

• Strong focus on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
  • Relevant certification is preferred such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Administration and maintenance of Oracle ZFS Storage
  • Experience with specific phases of the software development life cycle, especially Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall.
  • Replication technologies such as RecoverPoint and Replication Manager
  • Experience with Operating System file system support: Microsoft, Solaris, RedHat, Xen, Esxi.
  • Experience creating technical and non-technical end-user documentation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of both client and business.
