Job Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, and manage detailed intra month profit and loss forecasts for each of the ER&T generation and trading regions • Analyze and explain variances between actual operation results and the business plan • Devleop and manage a shadow settlement process for each ISO • Document and manage the process to recoup claims with ISO for billing inaccuracies • Perform ad hoc independent analysis of p&l and other financial and unit performance metrics in support of ER&T senior management and trading • Develop calculations on ISO load related ancillary charges • Develop and maintain relationships with each regional power pool

Job Summary

• Perform short-term portfolio analysis focusing on key drivers of financial results. • Provide Operations team an analysis of daily activity focusing on Generation, Load, and Hedge performance. • Provide comparisons to specific benchmarks like the business plan and/or day over day results. • Present analysis to the Operations team and PSEG leadership on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. • Prepare required Regulatory / Compliance reports in support of EQR reporting and other ER&T key controls. • Validate the accuracy of ISO settlements and when necessary manage the ISO dispute resolution process. • Review, analyze, and prepare necessary reports to meet financial, regulatory and contractual requirements. • Ensure adequacy of functional controls while working with both internal departments and external vendors to provide accurate financial reporting. • Assist in the development and testing of system applications used to support reporting needs. • Prepare and analyze financial and operating data for the valuation of wholesale power transactions. • Prepare ad hoc reports using Aligne, PCI, ISO Reporting Tools, Power Data Warehouse, and other internal systems.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

Associate Power Market Analyst
• Bachelor's Degree or six years professional experience • Minimum one year experience in the energy field
Power Market Analyst:
• Bachelor's Degree or six years professional experience • Minimum of three years power market or power trading experience
Senior Power Market Analyst:
• Bachelor's Degree or six years professional experience • Five or more years power market or power trading experience
Desired :
• Knowledge of energy markets and products, trading instruments including swaps, options, and futures. • Results oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills • Possess problem solving initiative and the ability to work independently • Understanding of margin calculations in key areas like Generation, Load, or Hedging. • Experience using ISO Reporting Sites, Aligne, PCI, and Power Data Warehouse. • Advanced knowledge of Excel
