Job Summary

Reports Directly to Senior Operations Supervisor Provides direction to associates assigned as Outside Operators as needed

Job Responsibilities

•Plant Operations:Gas and Steam Turbine and Generator Start Up, Base Load Operation and Shutdown Operating control boards through DCS HMI for safe operation of all plant components Utilize the DCS platform to investigate plant issues to determine failure modes in plant logic diagrams Ensuring compliance with Environmental Regulations Proper Operations of the Water PlantEnsuring an adequate supply of Chemicals and Gases to support plant Operations Directing plant and emergency activities during periods when plant management is not on site •Fulfilling OEM reporting requirements Making necessary operating decisions with guidance from the Operations Management to maximize operating profit margins considering Market conditions and Plant equipment capability Accurately and Comprehensively Documenting Plant Operating Events Responsible for outside logs being taken on all running equipment when assigned as Outside Operator, or by the associate assigned to Outside Operator duty. Review of Operator Log Sheets and subsequent corrective action planning and communication to Operations Management •Shift Scheduling and Training Ensuring adequate Shift Staffing and Scheduling and if necessary, communicate needs to Management. •Training of OperatorsReview and Improvement of Plant Operations Procedures •Plant SafetyAdherence to Proper Safety Procedures during Operations and Maintenance activities including LOTO, Hazardous Work and Hazardous Work Permitting •Maintenance ActivitiesCoordinating the Availability of Plant Equipment for Maintenance Outages and Operating Schedules Ensuring Shift Operations and Maintenance PMs are performed Perform Preventive Maintenance tasks. Communicating Equipment Repair needs to Maintenance and Operations Mgmt. •Communications and Interface Communicating Operations and Maintenance activities during shift changes Communicating changes in operations procedures to other shift's management staff Communicate with outside agencies, internal and external clients. This includes communication regarding the operations of the generating unites with ESOC and the ER&T Trading Floor.

Job Specific Qualifications

Job Requirements:
•Must be willing to work overtime, and be available for emergencies and outage maintenance. •Must be willing to work a rotating 12-hour shift. •Must have good communications skills (verbal and written), with the ability to communicate work instructions to co-workers and fill out work permits.

Qualifica tions (Required):
•High school diploma or GED •Must have successfully completed the POSS/MOSS pre-employment tests •4 Years Experience in Industrial Operations except those qualified through the PSEG Energy Career Program •Strong PC Skills in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Access, Word)

DESIRED:
•Maryland Grade 1 Stationary Engineer License •2 years Control Room Operator experience. •Power Plant experience. •Engineering Background through College or Military Training •Water Chemistry Experience.
