Job Summary

This position is required to support the statewide planning and implementation of the CLCPA mandate which requires LIPA to comply with certain renewable goals such as Off-Shore Wind, Energy Storage and Solar. Inability to advocate for favorable state policies and market rules governing these and other areas could result in millions of dollars of additional cost allocation to Long Island ratepayers.

This position is responsible for providing regulatory markets and services support to the overall Management and Administration of Market Policy & Strategy for LIPA as outlined under OSA. Support the implementation and analysis of Energy, Capacity and Ancillary Service market products for LIPA market interests in NYISO, PJM and ISO-NE.

This position will also act as the primary point of liaison between Exelon Generation and PSEG Long Island and have responsibility for reporting on activities at the Nine Mile Point 2 Nuclear Facility as they pertain to LIPA's ownership interests.

Job Responsibilities

•Provide regular technical and regulatory reports on short and long term energy, capacity and ancillary market costs, pricing and potential changes to market rules impacting LIPA future cost allocations. •Provide subject matter expertise on existing and proposed markets and products in these RTO areas to support efforts in the Transmission, Resource Planning and Power Contract Areas. •Assessment of forecast market costs and allocations with Renewable Resource Technologies in areas such as Off Shore Wind, Energy Storage and Solar. •Manage Monthly Capacity Compliance Filings with NYISO. •Nine Mile Point 2 Nuclear operational and budget reporting as well as Exelon's conformance with the unit's Operating License and other regulatory requirements. Attend on-site meetings when required.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Education, Skills, Competencies

•Bachelors of Engineering, Business or Public Policy degree required. Eight years of utility experience reflecting acquired knowledge of PJM, NEISO and NYISO Markets as well as a working knowledge of economics and statistics fundamentals. •Ability and willingness to exercise independent judgment and initiative related to work assignments. Perform effectively in time-sensitive situations and meet deadlines; coordinate multiple projects and complex tasks simultaneously so that projects and reports are completed in a thorough, concise, timely and accurate manner. •Maintain open and regular communication with LIPA and PSEG Long Island executive management, as well as with representatives of state agencies and other external entities, regarding policy related matters. •The candidate must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively communicate with Senior Leadership Teand have the ability to lead cross-functional teams comprised of personnel at various levels within the organization. •Ability to respond to emergency storm and other system conditions which requires field work during nights and weekends as well as the ability to travel to attend meetings on and off Long Island as required.

Desired Education, Skills, Competencies
•A Master's Degree in Engineering, Business or Public Policy is preferred. Experience in the utility business (tariff or contract administration, planning or operations) and/or in a regulatory role is preferred. Nuclear experience is preferred but not required.
