Job Summary

This positin provides governance, oversight, support and perform activities for the PSEG Nuclear Performance Improvement and Organization Effectiveness functional areas

Job Responsibilities

Governance - Is the authority and owner for processes and procedures in the functional areas. Leads peer/working groups consisting of station functional area managers. Participates in industry peer/networking groups, including some as team and assistant team leader as appropriate. Develops and implements strategic initiatives to drive continuous improvement in the functional area. Participates in industry meetings and activities - benchmarks for excellence in the functional area. Reports to the Plant Manager Council on peer group gaps, initiatives, activities, and progress.

Oversight - Ensures that the stations properly implements functional area processes and procedures. Elevates concerns if the response to an identified shortfall is inadequate. Sets the scorecard for the functional areas and regularly monitors performance. Reviews INPO, NRC, and Nuclear Oversight performance assessment reports for trends and improvement plan effectiveness. Attends PI and OR related meetings - challenges performance and actions for continuous improvement. Participates in the morning call and periodically performs field observations, including management team effectiveness.

Support - Provides support to mid-cycle and inspection readiness self-assessments in a manner that contributes to proper outcomes for the stations. Sometimes called on by the stations to identify and contact industry expertise and assistance. Facilitates functional area interactions with industry.

Perform - May lead or participate in a self-assessment or benchmarking activity.

Job Specific Qualifications

REQUIRED:

BS or BA Degree, or related technical degree (PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent); 7 - 10 years increasingly responsible related experience. Current or previous supervisory or leadership experience. Working knowledge and understanding of performance improvement and organizational effectiveness programs and processes. Must meet Nuclear's requirements for unescorted plant access.

DESIRED:

Advanced degree. Established relationship with external agencies, industry experts. SRO license or certification.
