Job Summary

This is a Work Experience Program (WEP) Temporary position designed to support the department for a limited duration. While the exact duration of the position is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of at least 12 months based on business needs at the present time, following which there will be a possibility to convert the individual from a Temporary At-Will Employee to Regular At-Will Employee. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future at which point you will separate from the Company. It is also important for you to understand that this WEP employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 12 months of assignment. If your WEP position ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment.

The Service Consultant role is a critical role for Business Customer Solutions. This position is responsible for two distinct processes. First, this position is responsible for facilitating PSE&G's CRM modernization process primarily the development, integration, training, and ongoing support of Salesforce. Second, this position supports the Outdoor Lighting sales and support process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Position is responsible for supporting PSE&G's unmetered new business service
  • Respond to customer inquiries (phone, web, email) regarding new outdoor lighting and unmetered non-lighting services. This involves interaction with multiple departments; Electric Distribution, Billing, Administration, Collections, Regional Public Affairs, Customer Contact and Asset Management
  • Work through key internal stakeholders to provide superior customer service and timely information to customers
  • Responsibilities include accurate and timely generation of new orders for lighting, tracking/analyzing results, trouble-shoot issues and preparing reports as needed
  • Work closely with Outdoor Lighting Product Management, field-based unmetered (lighting and non-lighting) associates and the centralized administrative team
  • Responsible for customer data verification in the SAP work-management system (DWMS), SAP CCS and the Outdoor Lighting database as part of the order issuance process
  • Probe customers to identify new business opportunities and strategic business intelligence formation
  • Manage the processing of numerous customer requests, ensuring customer satisfaction and efficient use of company resources
  • Identify, negotiate and resolve associated unmetered requests and/or billing and scheduling issues
  • The ability to write Salesforce user stories, including working with business partners to understand their requirements, supporting the system architects, and ensuing user acceptance testing is completed. Support on the job training as needed. Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls


Job Specific Qualifications

  • BA/BS or minimum 2 years related customer contact or technical experience.
  • Experience with MS Office Applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Prior experience in handling customer calls and managing customer relationships
  • SAP, CCS and Salesforce experience
  • Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects all aspects of diversity
  • Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices
  • A valid U.S. driver's license
