Job Summary

Responsible for working collaboratively within business teams to ensure the successful development and delivery of IT systems and services to optimize value for the business. From an application perspective, the Director will oversee all centralized testing and DevOps activities, management of change requests and configurations, and the planning and execution of release activities. From an IT resource perspective, the Director is tasked with managing capacity and strategic vendor relationships, defining standards and processes, and measuring / providing recommendations on how to improve overall IT performance. The Director will also provide leadership to maintain and enhance the ServiceNow platform and its operations, including asset management. This role has overall responsibility for the budget and performance of all IT initiatives, teams, and personnel related to Change and Release Management, IT Assurance, Vendor Management, Performance Management, Testing and QA, Transformation Processes & Tools, and ServiceNow & IT Asset Management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Define overall IT standards, processes, policies, and reporting dashboards and ensure that all changes to the IT organization are performed in a coordinated, structured, and well-documented manner
  • Oversee the Vendor Management Office, including the creation of a master vendor list, sourcing activities and contract management and negotiation
  • Guide overall DevOps strategy, Agile tools, and metrics / reporting to increase IT delivery speed and quality
  • Direct the selection, availability, and use of applications, systems, and tools to manage risk profile and SLAs of Technology Business Management services
  • Drive automation and testing efficiency to ensure that all tools are up to date and aligned with company and industry standards
  • Oversee ServiceNow and guide effective management of all IT assets 
  • Oversee activities related to corrective action assessments, human performance, and IT employee safety
  • Manage team performance, coach and mentor team members, and develop a succession plan for the group

Job Specific Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related field and/or an MBA
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT processes and standards
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders
  • Experience in purchasing technology-related products / services and negotiating with IT vendors
  • Expertise in designing IT governance and strategy and defining SLAs to align with business objectives
  • Ability to assess change, manage configurations, and run automated tests to ensure minimal disruption to live environment
  • Expertise in building, testing, and batching requested changes while maintaining the integrity of ongoing services
  • Extensive knowledge of testing and DevOps methodologies and ability to guide the design of testing standards
  • Ability to set up IT asset management frameworks, databases, and systems, encompassing application, hardware, and end user devices, to drive reliability and support cost reduction initiatives
  • Knowledge of testing automation methodologies, standards, tools, and best practices for automation processes
  • Can effectively deal with all aspects of vendor management, including sourcing, contract management and negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Expertise in IT performance management metrics / KPIs and ability to identify improvement opportunities and initiatives to optimize IT performance and cost
  • Expert in interpreting and communicating technical information in business language and vice versa
  • Possesses strong financial acumen and can help shape and optimize around $16-18M budget for the function
