Job Summary

The successful candidate will assist in developing and proposing future Distribution and Transmission system upgrades required to maintain system reliability for the short range and long range planning horizons. This position requires close interaction for coordination of future expansion plans with the Divisions and the PJM Regional Transmission Organization planning group. Work function includes gathering historical data, performing power system simulation studies, determining of feasibility, scope and cost estimates for proposed network enhancements impacting the PSE&G Distribution and Transmission system.

This is a Work Experience Program (WEP) Temporary position designed to support the department for a limited duration. While the exact duration of the position is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of at least 12 months based on business needs at the present time, following which there will be a possibility to convert the individual from a Temporary At-Will Employee to Regular At-Will Employee. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future at which point you will separate from the Company. It is also important for you to understand that this WEP employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 12months of assignment. If your WEP position ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment.

Job Responsibilities

Develop short-range and long-range substation forecasts and compare present or planned capacities with short range and long range load forecasts. The job function would include engineering analyses to evaluate the timing of reinforcements to ensure the reliable operation of the Distribution system and Transmission system, perform complex power system engineering studies to determine the PSEG system limitations (thermal, voltage, and short-circuit), operating capability and perform short range planning analyses. Analyze potential operating limitations and develop operating procedures to guide the system operators. Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG business controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal controls.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 4 years of Utility experience
• Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
• Possess leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus
• Must have effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and results-oriented.
• Must have strong written and verbal communications skills
• Must be willing to work OT as Required and perform on-call/emergency support as needed
• Strong computer skills in MS Office applications

Desired
• System planning experience in a utility environment with knowledge in Regional Transmission Organization planning andoperating criteria.
• Knowledge of electric transmission, distribution operationsand/orpower generation.
• Familiarity with inside/outside plant assets and experience ininterpreting one-line diagrams, electrical and civil constructiondrawings.
• Working knowledge of power flow, short circuit, stability and lossof load probabilistic tools.
