Job Summary

The position has overall responsibility for developing and implementing strategic outreach and communication plans in support of critical PSEG, PSE&G and PSEG Power priorities. The role includes managing a team of Regional Public Affairs Managers who advocate and to gain support for key business priorities, legislative and regulatory proposals, and projects to a wide range of external audiences, inclusive of elected officials, public policy influential and community organizers. The position requires engagement of corporate executive officers on matters of critical importance to the company and entails advising corporate executives on the external implications and cost/benefit of decisions.

The position requires coordination, collaboration and ongoing communication with Directors and Managers in the business units for the fair and efficient management of employees who have a dual or matrixed reporting arrangement.

Where appropriate joint goals and objectives will be developed and managed for designated employees.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in regional business and non-profit organizations strategic to the success of the Enterprise
• Direct the activities of Senior and Regional Public Affairs managers in support of PSEG Power operations
• Direct the activities of Senior and Regional Public Affairs managers in support of PSE&G Electric and Gas operations
• Direct the activities of Senior and Regional Public Affairs managers in support of PSE&G Construction operations.
• Direct the activities of the Manager of Outreach for Statewide Transmission in support of construction activities of PSE&G Electric and gas operations.
• Collaborate with Division Managers, District Managers, Fossil Station Managers, Project Directors and the Projects construction Outreach director to align the department resources to support the public affairs needs of the operation departments.
• Develop and implement advocacy campaigns in support of the company's regulatory and legislative initiatives.
• Manage a labor, capital, corporate contributions and O&M budget

Job Specific Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree and 10 or more years of experience (Utility or Power management work preferred but not required),
• Proven supervisory experience, in the fields of community relations, public boards or committees, lobbying, elected or appointed government or public sector experience.
• Proven exceptional communications and interpersonal skills developed through interaction with executives, public officials and community /local boards.
• Exceptional writing, presentation and public speaking skills.
• Proven project planning and management.
• Exceptional management, team building, and Lobbying skills

Desired Qualifications

• Master's degree along with public sector experience with state and local government
• Experience and general understanding of local government.
• Experience with public/private partnerships and policy initiatives; budget and management experience.
• Knowledge of the power, utility and/or energy industries.
