Job Summary:

In this role you will be responsible for helping PSEG Nuclear clients achieve business goals and objectives through strategic, targeted communications planning and implementation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage and execute strategic communication plans targeting key messages to important, segmented internal audiences.
  • Ensure that employees, managers and supervisors understand and embrace Company's mission, vision and values and are able to support a meaningful dialogue within the organization.
  • Write and develop executive communications including speechwriting, presentations; and articles for Company publications.
  • Coach, consult and provide communication support to business leaders.
  • Provide 'thought leadership' to senior management on internal communications initiatives and messages.
  • Coordinate, plan and budget innovative internal/external communication strategies.
  • More specifically, support a highly structured effort to cascade and re-enforce message with the right tools, along the most effective communication channels for each audience segment.
  • Help support the coordination of special events and Town Hall meetings.
  • Partner with nuclear and corporate communications departments to ensure alignment of internal/external messages.
  • Partner and collaborate with corporate intranet and creative services units to support client needs.
  • Write and edit communication materials.
  • Serve as a communications representative for the business on projects, issues and ongoing activities.
  • Develop and implement quality and performance metrics.
  • Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.
  • Provide media relations support for Nuclear External Communications as needed.
  • Serve in duty position for emergency response organization on rotating basis.
  • Ability to work extended hours in evenings and weekends especially during refueling outage periods.


REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or related discipline and at least 5 years related experience (In lieu of degree a minimum of 7 years in internal corporate communications.)
  • Experience developing, managing and implementing comprehensive internal communication plans.
  • Superior written/oral communication skills.
  • Broad experience in events planning and management.
  • Experience in crisis communication and media relations.
  • Experience working with senior leaders to create credible communications, including executive talking points and speechwriting.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop internal contacts and relationships across a wide range of management levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, project management and presentation skills.
  • Persuasive speaking skills.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions for media displays.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented, matrix organization and successfully work cross-functionally.
  • Functional expertise in communication technology, methods and strategy, including knowledge of best practices
  • Knowledge of print production and electronic communications (including Web-based).
  • Must meet and maintain Nuclear Plant Access.


DESIRED:
  • Master's degree in Communications, Journalism or related discipline.
  • Energy business/industry knowledge.
  • Ability to conduct employee focus groups and online surveys, analyze data and make recommendations on findings to address employee and organization communication needs.
