Job Summary

The Senior Data and Process Analyst will provide analytical and functional support in the governance of value streams, process management, project management, and analytics. This is an importan t role in the centralized performance improvement group responsible for setting policy, establishing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives throughout PSEG Long Island. This role will support the development and provide analytical support to the CI manager's Operations Excellence projects and works across all initiatives to track cost efficiencies, risk reduction and creation of headroom. Some project initiatives include, but are not limited to, cost management, performance efficiency, process development, regulatory compliance, building governance models to support the company's core business results. They will also work with CI managers and businesses associates to address the company's scorecard gaps and support programs to establish companywide Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt/Greenbelt training and improve the culture of Continuous Improvement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical and functional support in the governance of the Continuous Improvement and related initiatives, analytics, relationships, benchmarking, diagnostics, and process adherence
  • Develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and Tableau data visualization files, etc.
  • Analyze operations data and make recommendations for improvement
  • Supports programs to establish and maintain quality standards for existing processes and services, and develops programs to focus employees on quality improvement at all levels. Supports policies, procedures, training standards, and metrics to monitor significant process and/or operational metrics and improve same.
  • Strong technical skills in process mapping, procedure creation, and controls
  • Coordinate project communication with impacted areas across the enterprise and partnered organizations.
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings.


Job Specific Qualifications

Required Education, Competencies and Skills:
•Bachelor's Degree in Business, Statistics, Finance, Economic, or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of analytical experience
•Demonstrated organization and high level of analytical and quantitative analysis skills
•Proficiency with MS Office Products - Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
•Experience with creation of data visualizations utilizing data visualization software (Tableau, Microsoft BI, etc.)
•Experience in data mining, database development, or programming
•Demonstrated ability to develop new approaches with applicable tools to measure success.
•Must be detail oriented and able to work independently
•Demonstrated ability to develop strong client relationships at all levels
•Must be able to obtain and act on feedback for all elements of the balanced scorecard process
•Demonstrated experience promoting team effectiveness by soliciting input from team members, communicating expectations of the team and delegating responsibilities while providing support and structure
•Demonstrated ability to work across department boundaries
•This position may require travel to various work locations

Preferred Education, Competencies and Skills:
•MBA or advanced degree in Business, Statistics, Finance, Economic or related field or progress towards one
•Working knowledge of utility key performance indicators and drivers
•Experience in industry benchmarking groups and studies
•Experience automating process leveraging technology
•Comfort with making presentations; public speaking skills
•Ability to design and develop internal systems and scripts to acquire data that can be used to enhance and automate the business process
•Strategic thinker comfortable working on complex problems with ability to understand the connectivity and impacts across cross-functional initiatives

This position has a career path which provides for promotional opportunities within and across grades as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.

This is a multi-level growth series position, the title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process.

If an internal candidate is selected they will move laterally at their current grade level and will not be eligible for a promotion at the time of accepting this position. This applies to candidates moving within the same career path (e.g., analyst, supervisor, engineer), or to a different career path (e.g., analyst to engineer, supervisor to analyst). The selected candidate will have an opportunity to be promoted within the career path during an annual review.
