Job Summary

This is a "Project" position designed to support project work for a limited duration. While the exact duration of the project is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of 3-5 years based on business needs at the present time following which you will separate from the Company. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future at which point you will separate from the Company. It is also important for you to understand that this employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment. From year 4 through the end of your assignment, Director level approval and waiver will not be required. If your assignment ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment.

The Energy Management System (EMS) is a collection of specialized Electric Utility computer systems used by the Electric System Operations Center (ESOC) for the monitoring and control of PSE&G Bulk Electric System (BES). There are two EMS control centers within PSE&G, the Primary control center located in Newark and the Disaster Recovery center (DR) located in Edison. This position is within the System Reliability (SR) group which primarily responsible for maintaining Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and EMS systems for Electric Transmission. The primary purpose of this position is to assist in maintaining the EMS and SCADA Systems. This includes troubleshooting and commissioning of SCADA and EMS components and field equipment such as Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and Intelligent Electronic Equipment (IEDs) and other EMS ancillary systems. In addition, to provide technical support and assistance to ESOC on a 24x7 basis.

Note: This is a multi-level growth series position (Grade Level 24/25/26/27). The title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process, as they meet the criteria defined below.

Job Responsibilities

•Conduct analyses for EMS, SCADA and communication related issues: 1. Look to EMS/SCADA log files, follow through any errors 2. Follow through with communication issues for Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) with IT and/or Laboratory Testing Services (LTS) group 3. Follow through with assigned Mantis tickets 4. Follow through any fiber-optic issues 5. Follow through with issues concerning operator consoles, phone system, and satellite clock 6. Perform above Disaster Recover (DR) site located in Edison training center•Assist with weekly, monthly and annual NERC CIP activities: 1. Follow through with EMS patches and system antivirus 2. Follow through with daily logs and examine user access logs 3. Assist with preparation and application of annual NERC CIP updates 4. Assist with NERC CIP audit preparation •Support ESOC operations, monitoring EMS system performance and basic maintenance activities•Support ESOC operations, monitoring EMS system performance and basic maintenance activities•Assist with preparing reports for analysis

Job Specific Qualifications

Required
• Associate/BS/BA degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Or Equivalent Experience • Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing and interpersonal skills • Working knowledge of computing environments and tools such as the Linux operating environment, Linux shells, and standard utilities • Working knowledge of Electric Utility Tansmission/Distribution systems or similar industry exposure • Must have a valid driver's license • On call 24/7 hours to assist during system emergency situations • Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects all aspects of diversity • Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices •Prior work experience with real-time control systems

Desired
•Bachelor/associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems •Prior experience with any EMS/SCADA vendors and/or systems
