Job Summary

Entry level engineering position, with relatively little or no experience. Under close supervision, responsible for performing simple engineering tasks and calculations, as required by the department.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, assess, research and recommend replacement parts for obsolete/spare parts for use in the Salem & Hope Creek Generating Stations
• Complete Item Equivalency Evaluations to document suitability of replacement parts
• Determine whether replacements parts meet the criteria for safety-related equipment in the plant
• Create, revise, and evaluate BOM's, approved parts lists, and includes the appropriate evaluations, documentation, determination of quality class (safety or non-safety related)
• Complete Commercial Grade Dedication documents to properly test the critical characteristics of a component
• Provide oversight of external engineering resources to ensure sound technical products are being delivered to meet milestones
• Support outages and the emergency response organization which may require shift work/off hours support.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required skills:
• BS Degree in Engineering. • Zero - five years of experience in Nuclear Power Plant Engineering and/or equivalent experience. Electrical/I&C discipline is preferred. • Must meet Nuclear requirements for Unescorted Site Access.

Desired Skills:
• Greater than five years of experience in Nuclear Power Plant Engineering • Experience in Procurement Engineering performing material and service classifications, Item Equivalency Evaluations, and Commercial Grade Dedications • Familiar with EPRI guidance on Commercial Grade Dedication and the Standard Item Equivalency Process.
