Job Summary

Assign, supervise and coordinate the repair and preventive maintenance of nuclear plant equipment and systems to assure compliance with the nuclear operating license, state and federal regulatory guidelines

Job Responsibilities

The Nuclear Maintenance Supervisor position may be assigned to the Salem Maintenance I&C, Department and is responsible for: Providing first level supervision of represented employees in accordance with the Company/Union Collective Bargaining Agreement and Work Standards. Provide oversight to the direct repairs of equipment in the plant. Assure timely and effective performance of assigned maintenance by trained and qualified personnel using approved procedures and work practices. Assure station maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with PSEG personnel and safety policies by complying with administrative and technical procedures and work rules. Administer personnel activities by conducting fair and effective implementation of the Company/Union Collective Bargaining Agreement and PSEG policies, practices and procedures. Demonstration of leadership qualities in the performance of day-to-day duties. Perform supervisory duties, which include conducting personnel evaluations, hiring, disciplinary and discharge recommendations. Work on a shift rotation.
Other functions of the Nuclear Maintenance Supervisor may be to perform additional responsibilities under performance improvement or work week coordination. While in this role the responsibilities include: Developing human performance and maintenance communications, communicating performance issues through face to face or written communications, review performance issues and identify commonalities, evaluate common cause issues on maintenance performance and development of actions plans, identify training improvement opportunities, perform field observations, participate on Human Performance Review Boards & Steering Committees, engage in plant self-assessment, industry benchmarking, event investigations, etc.
•supervise direct work activities, including setting work standards and measuring work quality and output •supervise all maintenance activities within the Radiological Control Area (RCA) in accordance with the radiation safety program (ALARA) to assure worker and plant safety •Instruct maintenance associates in the performance of complex, unusual or potentially hazardous work •Process work packages including Design Change & Cod Job Packages in accordance with station procedures •Analyze equipment and equipment breakdowns, determine proper corrective actions and direct repairs •Meet minimum ANSI/ANS qualifications and requirement

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Experience/Knowledge:
•High School Diploma or equivalent and at least •4 years of operating plant experience, including one year of maintenance industry specific experience in the areas of Mechanical, Electrical, Planning and Instrumentation & Controls experience. •Must meet and maintain Nuclear's requirements for unescorted plant access. Must pass a First Line Supervisor test and demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.

Desired Experience/Knowledge:

Current or previous SRO Certification/License, demonstrated supervisory experience in the Nuclear industry, and have experience in directing bargaining unit personnel
