Job Summary

Entry level engineering position, with relatively little or no experience. Under close supervision, responsible for performing simple engineering tasks and calculations, as required by the department.

Job Responsibilities

Provide components / programs technical direction and administrative reviews of procedures and technical evaluations. Respond to management inquiries and provide responses to key stakeholders, audits and reviews. Review and give appropriate prioritization to work backlog and ensure that component health plans are maintained and effectively drive component health maintenance and improvements. Implement Equipment Reliability Initiatives, including motivating the correct behaviors to promote results-oriented Equipment Reliability and support Plant Outages.

Support station's focal point to increase component reliability and performance, reduce operating and maintenance costs and maintain compliance with plant design basis and regulatory requirements. Provide technical expertise during the identification, investigation, and resolution of off-normal equipment conditions to ensure safe plant operations and preserve equipment design margins. Monitor, trend, and assess component performance using predictive maintenance technologies to improve equipment reliability. Participate in on-line work week meetings and provide technical support for complex troubleshooting activities. Support long term asset management strategies, initiate design changes to improve plant operations, review failure analyses, perform causal evaluations. Support developing major equipment maintenance windows as project coordinators. Component engineering will also manage the preventative maintenance basis for components and optimizing the program based on as-found conditions. This individual has ultimate responsibility to ensure that these Components for PSEG Nuclear meet or exceed all regulatory requirements and are achieving / approaching industry best practice.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Skills:
• BS Degree in Engineering (Preferred Mechanical or Electrical), with 0 - 10 years of engineering experience. • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Ability to support shift work during refueling outage, forced outages, and access industrial areas of nuclear power plant. • Ability to gain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant. • The candidate will need to demonstrate flexibility with changing priorities and adaptive ways of doing business.
Desired Skills:
• 5+ years of Nuclear Power Plant experience • Experience managing equipment reliability related programs • Ability to manage projects and /or external vendors. • Familiar with INPO AP-913 (Equipment reliability at Nuclear Power Stations) and AP928 (Work Management Process). • Previous RO/SRO license/SRO cert is a plus. • Experience managing reliability of and developing repair plans for electrical/I&C components
