Job Summary

This is a "Project" position designed to support project work for a limited duration. While the exact duration of the project is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of 3-5 years based on business needs at the present time following which you will separate from the Company. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future at which point you will separate from the Company. It is also important for you to understand that this employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment. From year 4 through the end of your assignment, Director level approval and waiver will not be required. If your assignment ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment.

This is a multi-level growth series position (Grade Level 25/26/27). The title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process.

Provide Asset Management support for the engineering, design, evaluation, specification and documentation of new and existing outside plant overhead and underground equipment, including safety, reliability, and functional performance requirements. Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to all electric field divisions on complex engineering problems. Work will require reporting to various field locations and job sites as required.

Job Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include:
• The development of projects including needs justification, feasibility and financial analysis.
• Develop and maintain plans and specifications for construction.
• Develop and communicate clear project components, durations, scopes, etc.
• Provide the engineering expertise for Outside Plant Electric Transmission (Overhead and Underground).
• Productively interact with internal and external multi-disciplined customers, contractors, agencies, and engineers.
• Provide problem solving services in handling conflicts between PSE&G transmission facilities and others.
• Job responsibilities related to engineering, construction and support services include: evaluating technical and operational requirements; developing conceptual models and performing feasibility studies; cost estimation; preparing design and installation specifications and bid packages; evaluating bid packages; overseeing performance of contracted design and installation work.
• Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.
• Clear and concise writing and verbal communications skills are essential.
• On call 24/7 availability to handle emergency replacement work and assist during system emergency situation.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Grade 25:
• B.S. in Civil Engineering
• 0-2 years of relevant experience
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
• Possess leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus
• Must have effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and results-oriented.
• Must have strong written and verbal communications skills
• Must be willing to work OT as required and perform on-call/emergency support as needed
• Strong computer skills in MS Office applications
• Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects/encourages all aspects of diversity
• Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices.

Required: Grade 26
• B.S. in Civil Engineering
• 2-4 years of relevant experience
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
• Possess leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus
• Must have effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and results-oriented.
• Must have strong written and verbal communications skills
• Must be willing to work OT as required and perform on-call/emergency support as needed
• Strong computer skills in MS Office applications
• Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects/encourages all aspects of diversity
• Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices.

Required: Grade 27
• B.S. in Civil Engineering
• 4+ years of relevant experience
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
• Possess leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus
• Must have effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and results-oriented.
• Must have strong written and verbal communications skills
• Must be willing to work OT as required and perform on-call/emergency support as needed
• Strong computer skills in MS Office applications
• Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects/encourages all aspects of diversity
• Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices.

Desired: Grade 25/26/27
• Advanced technical training or P.E. License
• Experience in Transmission Structure design
• Knowledge in underground transmission cable engineering and manhole design.
• Designing, troubleshooting and maintenance of transmission lines.
• Familiarity with utility best practices, IEEE, ASME, NESC and NEMA Standards.
• Candidate requires knowledge of company or other industry engineering and design standards.
• Electric Utility or plant experience and knowledge of outside plant electric transmission systems, which includes design and cost estimate.

Bachelors in Civil Engineering
