Job Summary

This position is responsible for driving Network Architecture, Engineering, documentation and testing new technology in support of core business functions by evaluating end user needs, client goals, budgets and existing applications to define system requirements and technical standards. The position is a direct report to the Technology Group Product Manager. 


This position will provide Effective communication of IT activities, processes and solutions within the IT department ensuring project delivery exceeds customer needs and expectations. You will also be supporting other Network Engineers in their day to day operational activities.
 

Job Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities are:
•    Provide leadership, oversight and guidance on Network solutions, serving as an expert on technical capabilities. Provide vision; define system architecture, problem anticipation and problem solving ability across the landscape.
•    Design, document and maintain system processes, report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to product team. Establish a deep understanding of our customers’ business and technical needs and communicating key insights and findings to product team.
•    Provide deep software/hardware technical architecture expertise to ensure proper solution design.
•    Align and support with strategic direction of broader IT organization. Provide insight to the strategic vision/plans/roadmap and identify key innovative technologies and product enhancements that improves customer experience and simplify current landscape.
•    Responsible for establishing strong partnerships with vendors with clear expectations. This includes negotiating agreements, establishing service level agreements, and ensuring contracts are in place to support the product needs.
•    Facilitate and coordinate external benchmarking/best practice efforts and relationships with other business organizations
•    Develop Network LAN/WAN Architectures, documentation and testing of technology solutions to meet business or technology requirements
•    Provide recommendations for technology alternatives and lead the delivery of network solutions, including requirements analysis, internal proposal preparation, evaluation of supplier proposals, tool selection, and implementation planning
•    Work with IT Product teams and other IT areas as appropriate throughout the requirement, design, development, testing and implementation life cycle, including participation in troubleshooting of production issues
Maintain currency in network technologies and industry trends
 

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering; in lieu of a technical degree, a Bachelor’s in Business or a related field with a minimum of 8years relevant experience within the information technology field Must demonstrate strong leadership skills
•    Strong knowledge of new, emerging technologies
•    6+ years solution architecture experience with proven experience designing solutions for core business functions 
•    Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting data and converged/Hybrid network infrastructure including most of the following: Cloud Network Architectures,  vPC, Routing Protocols including OSPF and BGP, LAN/WANs/Wireless, Network Management tools and other network related technologies in support of a large corporate network
•    In-depth knowledge of Cisco IOS, NXOS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VXLAN, FCOE and FC environments
•    Experience with Datacenter virtualization technologies including hands on experience with Designing Multi-Tenant Spine/Leaf architectures utilizing Cisco Nexus platform including 9k, 7k, 3k and SAN switching

Desired Qualifications:  
•    Cisco certifications – CCIE, , Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
•    Amazon Solution architect – Certification
•    Knowledge of Telecom and Virtual technology platforms including VMware vCenter, vSphere, and integration with Cisco UCS
