Responsible for providing and coordinating technical support services to all electric divisions - Maintenance, Overhead Construction, Underground Construction and Engineering departments, as well as technical counsel on construction and maintenance of safe work practices, tools and equipment to maintain or enhance the reliability of the electric system and the safety of employees. This position is responsible for establishing and leading the tactical client/customer service focus for Power Quality (PQ) and Electric and Magnetic Fields (EMF) issues. Participates in individual or team projects or initiatives of varying complexity.
• Serves as PSE&G's EMF Issues Manager including EMF inquiries poised by customers, residents and other constituents • Manages PSE&G's stray voltage initiatives/processes and telecommunications inquiries by providing technical support and direction related to inadvertently energized structures/"hot" poles and inquiries related to RFI, TVI, CATVI and CATV ground current issues • Serves as technical consultant for PSE&G to provide engineering and technical solutions in support of Large Industrial & Commercial Customers for complex power quality problems • Work directly with division operating and engineering teams, customer operations and customer support groups to directly support customers on PQ and EMF related issues. • Represent Electric Delivery for various safety and work practice activities, represent and support Electric Delivery in the Line of Business Safety Council. Represent PSE&G at utility, safety (OSHA) and industrial committee meetings.
Job Specific Qualifications
• BA or BS degree or related experience • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in OH or UG, metering, or relevant experience • Extensive experience and knowledge of overhead and underground distribution construction and maintenance work practices; a strong general knowledge of fundamental mechanical/electrical principles; working knowledge of applicable industry construction standards and governmental regulations; mechanical/electrical equipment troubleshooting skills. • Must possess a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driving history. • practical experience in substation maintenance or overhead/underground distribution construction, knowledge of distribution operation and maintenance practices. • Experience working directly with customers • Basic understanding of power quality and EMF issues • Demonstrated leadership ability, communication and presentation skills and ability to work effectively with others.
• MBA or an equivalent Graduate Degree and/or APICS - CPIM and CSCP Certification. • Understanding of work management systems. • Demonstrated understanding of power quality and EMF measurement and analysis techniques.
