Job Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide quantitative and technical support to the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) organization. This includes developing an understanding of and then performing, as directed, savings analysis, technology review, and development and computation of impact calculations, lost revenues and forecasting models . Candidate will be expected to perform a large amount of data gathering and data analysis and will need to be able to work within an AWS datalake environment.

Candidate will interact with all members of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy team as well as counterparts in other areas of the Company, and PSEGLI contractors and various trade allies. The range of activities for this position may run from providing data analysis and quantitative assistance to EERE team members regarding routine calculations to acting as department liaison with other PSEGLI organizations on the development of new offerings within the Customer Services division.

This position has a career path which provides for promotional opportunities within and across grades as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
This is a multi-level growth series position, the title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process.
If an internal candidate is selected they will move laterally at their current grade level and will not be eligible for a promotion at the time of accepting this position. This applies to candidates moving within the same career path (e.g., analyst, supervisor, engineer), or to a different career path (e.g., analyst to engineer, supervisor to analyst). The selected candidate will have an opportunity to be promoted within the career path during an annual review.

Job Responsibilities

• Researching consumption and efficiency characteristics of various electrical technology measures
• Participating in work groups of industry organizations in order to improve departmental knowledge and vocalize PSEG Long Island interests
• Performing savings computational analysis for various electric efficiency and other energy savings measures
• Developing forecasting models of program activity to support program management and budget control
• Performing Benefit Cost Analysis for various measures and comprehensive solutions being investigated in the department
• Providing data analysis and support for departmental filings, business plans, etc
• Maintaining cognizance of new and developing technologies across all program sectors
• Supporting Department with:
o Excel and/or other mathematical software spreadsheets, algorithms and tools as may be necessary
o Liaisoned coordination with other operating departments on technical and engineering matters
o Evaluation and analysis of contractor proposals, analysis, design plans and assumptions.
o Drafting and compiling reports and papers on plans, performance and specific technology items.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Education, Skills & Competencies

• 0-2 years relevant professional experience
• Bachelors' degree in business, math, economics or computer science.
• Proficient in Access, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Well organized and strong communication skills
• Analytical aptitude
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license

Desired Education, Skills & Competencies

• Proficient in Tableau
• Data Lake Management experience
• Advanced Excel skills
