Job Summary

The Transmission Business Team Leader position plays a lead role on a team tasked to design, develop, build out, and maintain state-of-the-art communication network. Provides 24x7x365 monitoring support for the real-time communication Network. As technical lead, formulates recommendations and guidance to team members through the entire process including ticket creation, executing the network device replacement and asset management of the new and old network devices, maintaining QA/Test environment and supporting New Construction Project activities. Responsible for the monitoring and coordination cybersecurity, and new operational technologies such as wind generation, DER's, energy storage, micro-grids, transformer health monitoring.
Major responsibilities include implementation of resource planning and work scheduling while maintaining safety and reliability, and administration of process redesign and identification of system and/or information needs required to improve performance.

Job Responsibilities

•Utilize communication network standards and safety procedures to assess project scope to support successful project implementation while maintaining safety and reliability. •Provide leadership to team to support end to end life cycle of the communication network from installation, monitoring and maintenance. •Actively participate and/or contribute towards the improvement of engineering standards and design processes in line with NERC CIP Standards. •Review and/or supervise the review of engineering drawings (including technical documents) produced by external architectural and engineering (A&E) firms and/or internal designers to ensure compliance with PSE&G process, standards, and practices, constructability, maintainability, operational needs, safety and acceptable utility practice. •Analyze various reports and data to ensure functionality and performance meet all product and service level requirements. •Create technology solutions based on a disciplined process. Conduct design and change record peer reviews to ensure compliance with contractual obligations. •Provide support toward resolution of escalated support tickets. Apply operation break fixes and perform other proactive maintenance activities until permanent solutions can be implemented. Support and participate in the solution deployment process for new functionality/subsystems/modules, upgrades, updates and fixes to the production environment. •Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of monthly Network Security reports and assesses vulnerability assessment.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required
•Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information/Computer Security, Engineering or a related technical discipline •Must have at least 10 years of hands-on communication system engineering/network industry experience. •Demonstrated leadership ability, communication and presentation skills and ability to work effectively with others •Demonstrated ability to understand energy management systems, criticality of communications and need for good quality data. •Good understanding of and ability trend to monitor operational quantities and generate trending for forecasting ancillary factors impacting electric system operation. •Hands-on experience with end to end troubleshooting issues related to communication networking with the energy management system independently with the real time operations, physical fiber. •Applied knowledge of making changes to network routers, switches, firewalls, VPN tunnel configurations independently to achieve higher Security and Best Practice policies. •Demonstrated effective problem-solving and decision-making; strong planning and organizing skills; must be adaptable and results-oriented. •Ability to work with the fiber infrastructure to enhance communication infrastructure to make the network more robust and resilient. •Working knowledge of NERC CIP Standards related to router, switches and firewall and end to end communication with the energy management system. •Ability to deliver timely and effective response to assigned work using approved safety procedures and work practices. •Strong computer skills in MS Office applications and Troubleshooting TCP/IP Networks. •Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment. •Must have strong written and verbal communications skills.
