Job Summary

This opportunity is open to current PSEG employees only.

This is a "Project" position designed to support project work for a limited duration. While the exact duration of the project is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of 3-5 years based on business needs at the present time following which you will separate from the Company. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future at which point you will separate from the Company. It is also important for you to understand that this employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment. From year 4 through the end of your assignment, Director level approval and waiver will not be required. If your assignment ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment.

This is a multi-level growth series position (Grade Level 25/26/27). The title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process.

Job Responsibilities

Provide Asset Management support for the engineering, design, evaluation, specification and documentation of new and existing outside plant overhead and underground equipment, including safety, reliability, and functional performance requirements. Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to all electric field divisions on complex engineering problems. Work will require reporting to various field locations and job sites as required.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Writing and revising Material Specifications.
• Writing and revising Construction Standards.
• Investigate equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and document findings.
• System design and troubleshooting of overhead and underground equipment.
• Equipment design and analysis.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree or technical experience • 0-2 years of relevant experience • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment • Possess leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus • Must have effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and results-oriented. • Must have strong written and verbal communications skills • Must be willing to work OT as required and perform on-call/emergency support as needed • Strong computer skills in MS Office applications • Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects/encourages all aspects of diversity • Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices
Desired
• Advanced degree or technical training • Electrical utility experience • Familiarity with substation equipment and operations • Able to read/understand electrical one lines • Experience with outage planning • Experience with contingency planning • Working knowledge of protective relay schemes and applications
