Job Responsibilities

Manager Systems (SA)- Managers of site systems at Salem Engineering is responsible to the Site Salem Engineering SR plant Manager for providing the overall, performance and support for Mechanical systems, MSPI Program, and long term asset management to improve station reliability. Represents, leads, develop overall strategies and influences decision-making at the site level for performance of assign systems. Provides oversight and recommendations for routine systems assessments, outage readiness and preparation for outside organizational assessments (i.e. INPO).
Provide technical direction and administrative reviews of procedures, 50.59 reviews and technical evaluations. Responds to management inquiries and provides responses to key stakeholders, audits and reviews. Review and give appropriate prioritization to work backlog and ensure that system health plans are maintained and effectively drive system health maintenance and improvements. Implement Equipment Reliability Initiatives, including motivating the correct behaviors to promote results-oriented Equipment Reliability and support Plant Outages. This individual directs and controls work assigned to system engineering groups at Salem / Hope Creek and are responsible for all of the system basis activities in support of the safe and efficient operation of the stations.
Major Job Duties/Responsibilities- Responsibilities include the use of predictive and preventative maintenance techniques and the integrated use of the new monitoring and diagnostic center to identify issues and prioritize / direct actions to prevent equipment failures. Key areas of responsibility include performance monitoring and trending, elimination/mitigation of Single Point Vulnerabilities, Maintenance Rule monitoring, and Life Cycle Management / Long Range Planning for key systems & components. Assure conduct of system engineering activities are in compliance with facility license, company and government regulations. Assure that baseload and modifications to the plants are in compliance with the Plants' License configuration as far as impact to these systems. Responsible for maintaining and controlling the operating cost budget of the group.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

BS degree in Engineering - Minimum of 10 years power plant, or related field, experience with at least 5 years in engineering and 3 or more years in a supervisory/leadership position or equivalent experience such as observed leadership experience, project lead experience etc.

Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Familiar with PWR operations. Familiar with INPO Engineering system / Equipment Reliability expectations and the ability to drive site improvement to achieve sustained excellent performance (industry top quartile performance).The candidate will need to demonstrate flexibility with changing priorities and adaptive ways of doing business.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience in multiple nuclear plant engineering disciplines (i.e. systems, design, programs, and procurement); Current or Previous NRC SRO License or certification; ability to manage projects and /or external vendors, familiar with INPO AP-913 (Equipment reliability at Nuclear Power Stations) and AP-928 (Work Management Process). This individual has ultimate responsibility to ensure that these engineering systems for PSEG Nuclear meet or exceed all regulatory requirements and are achieving / approaching industry best practice.
