Job Summary
Summary
The Senior Project Controls Specialist will develop or possess skills and expertise in the following areas:
• Project Scope coordination;
• Project Execution Plan input, preparation, coordination, and monitoring;
• Project Estimate cost, schedule energy savings;
• Assist in project schedule, cost and energy savings development;
• Contractor coordination and management;
• Project management assistance;
• Integrated cost and scheduling;
• Total Project and Annual Budget development;
• Financial analysis;
• Cost accounting and forecasting;
• Variance analysis;
• Performance reporting;
• Project change management; and
• Risk and contingency planning
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain financial, energy savings, schedule, estimate, budget, resource, procurement, risk and other data within various RES databases and query tools for individual projects and for the RES project portfolio.
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain status reporting and executive dashboards for the financial aspects, energy savings and schedules for RES Projects/Programs within RES systems, including performance indices such as CPI, SPI, Energy Savings, and other Key Performance Indices (KPI’s) that will be reported to Senior leaders and the NJ BPU impacting the companies ROI/ROR.
- Assist EE Operational teams with the creation of risk mitigations plans.
- Provide technical training as required.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Renewables, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Construction or related discipline and minimum six (6) years professional experience in business, financial, construction or project management.
- Minimum 4 years of experience with Project Controls concepts (project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling, or closeout) field or home office
- Minimum 4 years of experience with Cost Engineering concepts (project estimating, forecasting, cost controls or variance reporting)
- Minimum 4 years of experience with ERP systems for identifying and reporting actual costs posted to projects (i.e. SAP, JD Edwards, or Peoplesoft, etc.)
- Minimum 4 years of experience with Integrated Data Management Tools such as, MS Excel and MS Access
- Minimum 4 years of experience with Project Management Document management software tool applications experience (ECM, FileNet, or SharePoint, etc.)
- Must be a self-starter capable of seeking out project related information from Project Stakeholders
- Capable of making presentations to project stakeholders and Management
- Must have a valid U. S. driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
