Job Summary
PSEG is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Auditor to conduct internal audits, reviews, investigations, and testing of internal controls across financial, operational and IT areas within PSEG. This position plays a key role in delivering assurance and advisory services to internal clients across the company and enhancing the effectiveness of PSEG's internal control environment.
The ideal incumbent will demonstrate leadership, strong written and oral communication skills, a high level of customer focus through facilitation and negotiation; and a high level of initiative, integrity, critical thinking, and adaptability.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a team environment to plan and execute assurance and advisory services focused on accounting, compliance and operational control issues
- Perform work in accordance with applicable professional standards and company policies
- Identify and evaluate risks, internal control weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement
- Communicate audit findings, recommendations, and audit-related issues clearly and effectively to department and executive management both verbally and in writing
- Exhibit leadership, customer/client focus, strong written and oral communication skills, facilitation skills, and negotiation skills
Job Specific Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline
- At least 5 years' experience in a large organization with at least 3 years in audit. Note: Candidates without a degree must have at least 10 years of relevant audit experience in a large organization.
- Strong understanding of accounting and auditing standards
- Demonstrated leadership, planning, and organizational abilities
- Ability to analyze operations and make informed decisions with limited information
- Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office applications
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills
Desired Skills, Competencies, Education or Experience
- CPA, CIA, CISA, MBA or related qualification
- Experience with or knowledge of utility or power generation business
Knowledge and use of data analytics software (e.g., Power BI, ACL) and some knowledge of SAP and/or TeamMate
