Job Summary

This position will support and be the primary single point of contact for PSE&G. This position will be leading and providing support, analysis and assessment for all North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) electric reliability standards and compliance of the NERC critical infrastructure protection standards.

Develop, implement and maintain the internal regulatory compliance program for Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) and coordinate all NERC/CIP compliance assessments and assurance activities on behalf of LIPA (the registered entity) in accordance with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) and the Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NPCC).  

Represent and participate in LIPA interests at NPCC and industry associations on NERC and Regional matters including policy, standards development, and compliance and enforcement matters. 

Inform, with corporate NERC team, LIPA and PSEG Long Island Business leadership on significant reliability standard policy and compliance enforcement matters.   

Lead analysis of all NERC standards and requirements and verify that PSEG Long Island Electric Operations have assigned SMEs for each applicable requirement. 

Coordinate the document control, scheduling of self-certifications and cost reporting for all NERC activities.  

Job Responsibilities •Accountable for policy and standards interpretation, analysis, providing advice and counsel and directing the LOB subject matter experts to adhere to and complete appropriate documentation of compliance. •Responsible and accountable for the performance and results of the Enterprise Businesses adherence to established Federal regulation standards for NERC and the critical infrastructure protection standards. •This position will provide strategic guidance on NERC proposed changes and guidance. •Leads actions and oversight within PSEG Long Island on NERC standard compliance, audit readiness, self-certifications, data submissions, communications, and enforcement actions on behalf of LIPA (the registered entity).  •Monitors, tracks and manages, with the corporate NERC team, analyses of new and revised reliability standards under development at NERC and NPCC and interfaces with LIPA leadership and legal counsel on comments on submittals and voting •Prepares reporting statuses of NERC activities and critical milestones for LIPA and PSEG Long Island leadership. •Represents and participates in LIPA interests at NPCC and industry associations on NERC and Regional matters including policy, standards development, and compliance and enforcement matters. •Performs storm restoration assignment of Transmission System Coordinator during critical storm outages.     
 

Job Specific Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred; other applicable fields may be considered. • Knowledgeable with the various regulatory and governing agencies, standards and legislation that oversee the electric power industry (i.e. FERC, NERC, NPCC & NYSRC). • 7 years' experience in in the Electric Utility and/or Power Industry and interconnection transmission

• Auditing background or experience
• Ability to work in a matrix structure organization
