This position resides in the Utility Technologies Department of the Asset Management & Centralized Services Organization.

Note: This is a multi-level growth series position (Grade Level 24/25/26/27). The title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process, as they meet the criteria defined below.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist System Reliability staff in maintaining the quality and availability of the real-time information and complex computer systems required for the operation of the Electric System Operation Center (ESOC), a 24x7 environment responsible for the safe and reliable operation of PSE&G's Bulk Electric System (BES). The candidate will be a member of the team responsible for PSE&G's Energy Management System (EMS) and all ancillary systems specific to ESOC operations. The position will involve daily maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, gathering information, and generating reports on the overall health of the EMS/SCADA (Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition) system as well as assisting with various Transmission projects as it relates to the EMS system. System Reliability is also responsibilities for maintaining and implementing all NERC CIP cybersecurity regulatory standards as it pertains to EMS. Provide technical support to client and support staff to ensure development of efficient application systems utilizing established standards, procedures, and methodologies (e.g., new, enhancements, maintenance; troubleshooting hardware/software issues, interact with other staff members or vendors in addressing complex issues, develop and prepare solutions which may involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools). Also working with PJM and understanding PJM procedures and manuals. Must maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and NERC CIP requirements (North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection).

Job Specific Qualifications

Required
• Associate/Bachelor's degree in STEM or HS Diploma with a minimum 2 years of technical experience (Electrical, EMS, SCADA)
• Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of computing environments and tools such as the Linux operating environment, Linux shells, and standard utilities
• Working knowledge of Electric Utility Transmission/Distribution systems or similar industry exposure
• Because the job requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, the hired candidate must possess a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.
• On call 24/7 hours to assist during system emergency situations

• Prior work experience with real-time control systems

Desired :
• Bachelor's degree in STEM or Power Systems
• Prior experience with any SCADA/EMS vendors and/or systems
• Strong acumen in cybersecurity standards such as NERC CIP, NIST, C2M2 as applicable to the Utility
