Job Summary

The Principal Technology Software Engineer is involved in the full systems life cycle and responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting application software and systems. Software Engineers work closely with Business Analysts and Group Product Managers to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and physical design of technical solutions. Software engineers may be assigned to either development or support functions. Development involves writing new programs whereas support involves upgrades, maintenance or issue resolution to existing applications and systems.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensures that the design and application implementation meets security and QA standards. Suggests fixes to issues by doing a thorough analysis of root cause and impact of the defect.
• Analyzes application reports to ensure that the functionality and performance meets all product and service level requirements.
• Codes applications using a disciplined development process. Works on coding tasks that require skills in multiple technical environments and knowledge of a specific business area.
• Provides daily support with resolution of escalated tickets. Applies operation break fixes and other proactive maintenance activities until permanent solutions can be implemented. Supports and participates in the software deployment process for new modules, upgrades and fixes to the production environment.
• Documents functions and changes to new or modified modules and test activities/results.
• Makes modules production-ready by moving them to libraries, completing forms, following procedures, completing version control documents, etc.
In addition to the requirements listed below, this position requires the following:
• At least 4+ year's previous experience as a MuleSoft developer in a complex environment using MuleSoft and Salesforce Cloud Platform.
• Strong experience in Application Development using Mule ESB and API management
• Mulesoft Anypoint studio extensive hands-on experience designing with Anypoint Studio and related Mule components (Mule ESB, ETLs, flows, MEL, Filtering, exception handling, API management, Data Weave, RAML, Swagger) is required.
• 3+ years object oriented development experience
• 4+ years Mulesoft development experience
• 3+ years developing RESTful services using Mulesoft ESB
• Understanding of Microservice design principles
• Experience with unit test frameworks. MUnit preferred
• Experience in developing mule flows in Any point studio
• Experience of working with MuleSoft components, workflow, and patterns, and how to configure them.
• Must have excellent knowledge on Integration and on Mule interface implementation
• Must have experience with working on complex dataweave transformations
• Must be able to hold technical design sessions in order to identify client integration requirements and processes
• Must have suitable Mulesoft certifications. Having Mulesoft certifications will greatly improve the chances for a successful application
• Design, develop and unit test new features and enhancements using Mulesoft ESB
• Develop and maintain APIs for Energy Efficiency products  for integration with backend systems like SAP, and Mainframe, and SaaS platforms like Salesofrce, DataLake
• Mentor team members in Mulesoft development and best practices
• Uses client provided CI/CD pipelines for deployments
• Deep understanding of RESTful architecture principles and their applicability
• Understanding of all the stages of API lifecycle.
• Experience with one or more programming languages for API development
• A thorough understanding of the Mulesoft platform with the ability to interact with business users to understand requirements in order to translate them into design specifications
• Ensures quality through the use of Client company-approved methodologies.
• Configure, Design, Develop using MuleSoft and other development tools provided by the client.

Job Specific Qualifications

9627 – Sr. Technology Engineer, Grade 28
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or Information Sciences preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 6 or more years of work experience in web and software development
• Extensive technical and functional experience in the development and support of IT systems.
• Highly proficient in one or more of the following technologies: .NET, FileNet, WebLogic, Oracle Application Server, IIS, Tomcat, MSSQL, Oracle SQL, OSI PI, IBM WebSphere

9626 – Principal Technology Engineer, Grade 29
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or Information Sciences preferred, or equivalent experience
• 8 or more years of work experience in web and software development

Key Skills and Knowledge:
• Experience with translating business requirements into system functional and non-functional requirements.
• Experience with business and system process flow techniques using UML (e.g. Use Case Diagrams, Activity Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams).
• Experience with specific phases of the software development life cycle, especially Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall.
• Ability to create both technical and non-technical end-user documentation.
• Basic knowledge of the practical application of role specific engineering science and technology including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.
• Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of both client and business.
• Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary.
• Strong attention to details.
